Tuff Shed Windows & Doors: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide
Tuff Shed-compatible windows and doors in West Palm Beach typically cost $180 to $640 installed per window and $350 to $1,400 installed per door, depending on size and whether you need a direct OEM replacement or a quality aftermarket match. We stock the most common Tuff Shed window and door sizes on the truck, so most swaps are done in a single visit.
Most owners notice the problem two ways. A window stops latching and lets humidity in during the summer months, or a door starts dragging against the frame after a heavy rain season swells the wood. Sometimes it’s simpler than that: the acrylic glazing has gone cloudy, the screen frame snapped at a corner, or the door’s Z-bar flashing pulled loose in a storm. These sheds sit in West Palm Beach heat, direct sun, and salt air all year. Parts fail. The good news is that Tuff Shed uses fairly standard rough openings, which means replacements don’t have to be a custom-order nightmare.
We’re an independent West Palm Beach remodeling contractor, not a Tuff Shed dealer or affiliate. What we offer is faster matching and honest pricing on windows and doors that fit your shed correctly, installed by a crew that leaves the area cleaner than they found it. Graham Stein walks every job site himself before the first tool comes off the truck.
Which Tuff Shed Models This Applies To

Most Tuff Shed models built after 2010 use one of two window families: the standard aluminum-framed slider window (typically 24″ x 36″ or 30″ x 36″) or the vinyl-framed single-hung found on Premier Pro and Sundance series buildings. Doors are almost always a 36″ x 80″ pre-hung exterior door, though some narrow models and side entries use a 32″ x 80″. Before we order or pull anything from stock, we verify the rough opening, not the visible trim. That’s the measurement that matters when matching a replacement.
One compatibility gotcha we see often in West Palm Beach: the Premier series and the older Barn series do not share the same window flange depth. A window that looks identical from the outside can sit 3/8″ shallower in the rough opening, which changes how it seals against the siding. If the shed label is faded or gone, we measure the wall thickness and the interior trim depth to identify what you have. For most owners, an OEM part is the easy choice. For sheds past ten years old, a well-machined aftermarket vinyl window often outperforms the original aluminum unit in Florida humidity, and it costs about the same installed. We’ll lay out both options and the price on paper before any work is ordered.

Signs Your Tuff Shed Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Condensation between the panes. This means the window’s seal has failed. In West Palm Beach’s humidity, a failed seal turns into permanent fogging within a few weeks. The glazing unit needs replacement, not just drying out.
- The door drags or won’t latch without lifting the handle. Shed doors pick up moisture from the ground side, especially during the June-to-October rainy season. The bottom corner swells or sags, and the latch bolt no longer lines up with the strike plate.
- Aluminum frame corners pulling away from the siding. This often starts with storm-driven rain working behind the mounting flange. Left alone, water migrates into the wall framing and the shed floor edge. We replace the window and re-flash the opening at the same time.
- Crank or sliding mechanism feels gritty or seized. Salt air in West Palm Beach corrodes the roller tracks and operator gears faster than inland Florida. If lubrication doesn’t free it, the hardware’s done.
- Screen frame snapped or spline pulled out. The most common call we get. UV breaks down the spline material, and one windy afternoon turns a small tear into a full replacement.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

The installed price depends on the part type, the rough opening size, and whether we’re replacing the fixture only or also repairing water-damaged framing around it. For Tuff Shed work in West Palm Beach, here’s what we quote:
- Standard slider window, 24″ x 36″ or 30″ x 36″: $180 – $340 installed
- Vinyl single-hung window with screen (Premier/Sundance style): $220 – $420 installed
- 36″ x 80″ pre-hung shed door, basic steel or wood composite: $350 – $750 installed
- 36″ x 80″ door with full frame replacement due to rot/water damage: $600 – $1,400 installed
Every quote is a written, line-item price before work starts. The materials are named by brand and quantity. Labor is itemized. You’ll get a firm start and end window. If we open up the wall and find hidden framing damage, we call, we show you, and we give you the revised number in writing before touching it. No change orders that appear after the fact.
All replacement work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the window or door isn’t done right, we make it right. That’s stamped on every project. We also include something most crews won’t mention: shoe covers inside the house, drop cloths between the shed and the path to the driveway, and a photo of the clean-up before we leave.
DIY or Call Us?
For windows and doors on a Tuff Shed, the genuinely safe DIY checks are these: clean the tracks, tighten visible screws on the hinge side, and inspect the exterior flashing for gaps you can see from the ground. That’s a Saturday morning’s work with a screwdriver and a tube of exterior silicone.
What we don’t recommend you do yourself is pull the door or window out of the rough opening. Removing the interior trim on a shed that’s been through a few West Palm Beach rain seasons often reveals the framing has shifted or softened more than expected. If the rough opening isn’t square, a new unit won’t sit flush, and you’re fighting the seal from day one. There’s also the question of weight: a 36″ x 80″ pre-hung shed door with the frame attached is usually a two-person lift on uneven ground. One slip, and you’ve got a dented door, a torn jamb, or worse.

FAQs

In this climate, expect 8 to 14 years from the original windows and 10 to 15 years from a well-maintained door. Salt air and direct sun on the east or south side of a shed will shorten that toward the lower end. If the shed faces a canal or sits within a block of the Intracoastal, plan on replacing hardware before the glass unit. Call (728) 203-3270 and we’ll assess what you have.
Yes, often. If the glass unit is fogged but the frame is sound, we can order a replacement glazing unit for less than a full window. If the door is dragging but the slab and jamb are both solid, we can often re-shim and re-set it rather than replacing it. The repair path makes sense about half the time in West Palm Beach. Call us and we’ll tell you which side of that line you’re on.
A standard window replacement takes about 60 minutes from unload to clean-up. A door with no framing damage takes about two hours. If there’s rot or water damage behind the opening, add a day while the new framing dries in place, but that’s the exception, not the norm. We’ll give you a start and end window in writing before we begin.
We stock the two most common window sizes and the standard 36″ x 80″ door on our West Palm Beach service vehicles. For uncommon sizes or Premier-series vinyl units, we order to spec and typically install within one week. We also keep matching hardware for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone cabinet lines, which gets us to the right part faster when a shed doubles as a workshop with built-ins.
