Schluter Roofing: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide
If you have a Schluter roofing component that has failed or is starting to show wear, we stock and install Schluter-compatible roofing parts throughout West Palm Beach, with most repairs falling between $400 and $1,800 installed. The most common Schluter roofing failures we see in this climate are edge trims, drip profiles, and waterproofing collars that crack after years of direct Florida sun, thermal expansion, and salt air. You’ll usually notice it first as a lifted trim piece, water staining near a penetration, or a visible split in the profile when you’re up cleaning gutters. Here’s what you need to know before you call.
Which Schluter Models This Applies To
Schluter’s roofing line breaks into a few distinct product families, and the right replacement part depends on which one is on your roof. The Schluter DILEX line includes movement joints and edge profiles used where roof membranes meet walls, parapets, and penetrations. Schluter TROBA is the drainage and ventilation mat that sits under roof assemblies, and KERDI waterproofing collars and bands appear around roof penetrations where a pipe, vent, or skylight passes through the membrane. The compatibility gotcha: DILEX profiles come in specific heights ranging from 8mm to 25mm, measured by the thickness of the tile or membrane they cap, and a profile that is even 2mm off will rock or split. The easiest way to identify yours is to look for the stamped code on the underside of the profile or the edge of the mat. We carry OEM Schluter parts and, where it makes sense, we will recommend a name-brand aftermarket equivalent with an equal or better UV rating, but for waterproofing collars and seals we only install genuine Schluter. The Florida sun is unforgiving on aftermarket rubber compounds, and we do not want to be back on that ladder next year.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Schluter Roofing Is Failing
- Lifted or curled edge profile. The adhesive or mechanical fastener has let go, usually because thermal cycling in West Palm Beach summers causes the aluminum or PVC to expand and contract faster than the membrane below it. Once lifted, the profile catches debris and water gets a path in.
- Hairline cracks along a DILEX profile. UV breakdown of the PVC compound after five to eight years of direct sun. The crack starts small and widens with every rain, eventually channeling water behind the profile.
- Water staining around a vent pipe or skylight flashing. The Schluter KERDI collar has separated from the pipe or the membrane. In salt-air zones near the intracoastal, the adhesive bond degrades faster than inland West Palm Beach homes.
- Standing water or damp spots on a flat roof section. The TROBA mat may be clogged with dust and debris, or it was compressed during installation and can no longer move water to the drains. Drainage mat failure shows up as puddles that linger 48 hours after rain.
- Crumbling or powdery residue near metal components. Galvanic corrosion between the aluminum profile and a dissimilar metal fastener, a common problem when an aftermarket stainless screw was used against an aluminum body. The residue is a dead giveaway.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In West Palm Beach, Schluter roofing profile and component repair runs $400 to $1,800 installed, depending on how much of the line has failed and roof access. A single replacement DILEX edge profile or KERDI collar typically lands between $400 and $800 including the part and labor. If the failure extends across a full parapet run or requires new drainage mat under a flat roof section, the number climbs toward $1,200 to $1,800. The range is driven by roof height, pitch, and whether we are cutting out old adhesive or pulling up a section of membrane to reflash a penetration. Every quote is a written line item before any work starts: the part by brand and model, the labor, the disposal. We do not give estimates that grow after the crew arrives. If it is not done right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things from a ladder: whether the profile is fully seated, whether the sealant around a pipe collar is cracked, and whether puddles are sitting in the same spots after rain. What we would not recommend doing yourself is cutting out and replacing a KERDI waterproofing collar, because the sealing bond has to be perfectly clean and dry or you get a slow leak that goes unnoticed for years. Working at roof height in Florida heat is its own hazard: a simple slip on a tile roof in West Palm Beach has led to injuries we would rather prevent. If you are comfortable with a visual inspection, great, take photos and send them over. If you want it fixed, call (728) 203-3270 and we will come look. FAQs

Schluter’s PVC and aluminum profiles typically last 8 to 12 years in West Palm Beach’s sun and salt air, with KERDI collars often needing replacement at the 5 to 8 year mark, especially near the coast. Drainage mats can last decades if they are not compressed or clogged.
A hairline crack can be temporarily sealed with a UV-rated sealant, but the profile is already degraded and will keep cracking, so replacement is the reliable fix. Call (728) 203-3270 for a written quote before you decide; estimates are free.
Most single-profile or collar replacements take two to four hours including set-up and clean-up, while a full parapet run or drainage mat replacement can take a full day. We’ll give you a firm start and end window in the written quote before any work begins.
We keep common DILEX profiles, KERDI collars, and TROBA sections on the truck for standard sizes, and we order less common profiles for delivery within a few days. Along with Schluter, our parts relationships include KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for adjacent work.
